I’m sitting here writing this the morning after Starfields, the bottom of my feet still blistered from the heeled boots I spent all evening strutting around North Haugh in. Last year, I think we were all at a point where it seemed so impossible to even consider once again having the privilege of rubbing, sweaty and glittered, against our fellow students on a densely-packed outdoor dancefield. Yesterday’s antics felt so surreal, and yet so right, too, a string of moments that eight months ago still felt so far.

For me, it’s also a privilege to return to Concrete Catwalk as Head of Bloggers again this year, my final, just in time to see this town, which has long been so events and so fashion driven, once again resume its usual activities. For us at Concrete Catwalk, this also means the return of our What 2 Wears, a CC signature, now that we’ll once again need guidance in scouring our closets in anticipation for whatever’s next on the calendar. We’re also looking forward to once again hosting our own events; be on the lookout for a boozy, Sex and the City-themed brunch we should be announcing very soon.

Concrete Catwalk’s focus has always been street style, and with so few of us out on the three streets in the past year and a half, we’ve certainly struggled to conjure content at a time when it’s been largely unmotivating and so logistically difficult to remain creative. However, last year I was so impressed by what my fellow team members were able to come up with, and now I’m beyond excited to see what we’re going to be able to do all together at full capacity.

Don’t be surprised if you see us in the streets, leather-suited, glittered, and bottle of bubbly in hand. Much like everything else, Concrete Catwalk is back.
