Best of Barn Bash 2024
Wranglers and leather and plenty of cowboy charm flooded Fallside Mill this Saturday for the St Andrews Polo event of the season… Barn Bash! We sat for a charming lunch with plenty of wine for dancing as the live band tuned up, playing current classics like Stick Season, Murder of the Dancefloor, and lots of old Taylor Swift all through the night. Even with the sweet music, guests of the evening brought out the big guns when crafting their outfits, making our job of finding the best dressed infinitely difficult.
Barn Bash has one of the best themes of the year, easily dressed for by the abundance of St Andrews Americans itching to whip out authentic leathers and giving everyone else a night to embrace some swelling country music and shameless cowboy boots. Even with an impossible task, here are the highlights of the night that we were able to capture…
Denim in every form was the ultimate star of the evening from pants to skirts to shorts and jackets, we saw it all.
The accessories did not disappoint as we caught glimpses of turquoise, pearl, silver, and suede.
Ever iconic, the cowboy boot was seen in varying shapes and shades.
Of course the mechanical bull is always a crowd pleaser…
All tied for second to denim was leathers in browns and blacks, plaid, and suede.
Tops took the form of button downs for the boys and endless waistcoats and vests for the girls.
It wouldn’t be Barn Bash without an abundance of cowboy hats. This year many caps joined the sea of heads.
A quick shoutout to pigtails and these stylish matching sets in gingham, denim, and linen.
The color palette was overwhelmingly blue denims, sheer whites, and red accessories (a little too on the nose?). With some being so bold as to come monochrome in whites and reds.
Truly a Barn Bash for the books! We’re already counting down the days until the next opportunity to see our St Andrews dress this well for a theme again. And because we really couldn’t pick favorites, here are our remaining honorable mentions:
